Betrayal Trauma, Part 2: The Healing Journey with Claire Atentian, LMFT

In our last episode, Claire Atenian helped us understand what betrayal trauma is and how it impacts our brains. If you can identify with this type of trauma, you are likely feeling more seen and even considering next steps for pursuing help and support.

Betrayal trauma is a very complicated type of pain because it happens within the context of the most meaningful relationships. In this episode, we explore the responsibility we have for our healing as well as what part is not our job to manage. Claire and I will offer several different types of support for navigating betrayal trauma, including some of which are available at no cost.

When someone we care about deeply betrays us, it is also easy to assume that we invited it somehow. Yet a great deal of the suffering we experience is just the result of living in a broken world. Betrayal is a suffering that Jesus suffered first-hand, and your pain and your healing matter deeply to Him. It’s our hope that this episode gives you the courage to take your first step in seeking help for yourself.
