Lisa's Story: Shame and Domestic Abuse (Part 1)

Many of us have known someone who has experienced domestic abuse, but what happens when you suddenly realize it is happening to you? When someone who promised to love and protect now only seeks to control, destroy, and instill fear, your whole world can crumble quickly, even if you came from a supportive family growing up.

In this episode, I’m sitting down with Lisa, a brave survivor of domestic abuse that included physical, verbal, and spiritual attacks. Listen as she shares the unfolding of this nightmare and how she could clearly identify God’s presence in the midst of her chaos over and over again. Discover how she’s been able to accept this experience as part of her story instead of her identity.
