Our Valid Needs for Love and Respect

When it comes to needs related to accessing food, shelter, and clothing, we can easily agree that these needs are valid. But what if I told you that your need for love and respect were just as valid–and even necessary–for you to thrive?

We live in a world that teaches us we can’t just be handed love and respect–we have to earn it. Yet the truth is that you crave both of these things because God created you with these needs so that He could fulfill them. Join me in this solo episode as I share five core needs we have as humans and how we hurt ourselves by trying to meet those needs on our own terms because we struggle to fully trust God.

What You’ll Learn

  • Why having a deep longing to be loved and respected is not a sign of weakness

  • The three most common ways we get our needs met on our own terms

  • The reason we continue to live in the lies of our shame

  • A practical first step to take the first step in allowing God to respond to your needs

  • How to start connecting the dots for patterns of sin and shame in your life
