The Holy Spirit’s Work in Us

Have you ever been encouraged to “get a handle on” or a “get serious” about your sin? It’s simple, right? You just need to make it a priority and work really hard. If you’re like me, approaching the most troublesome areas of my life with this theology only leads to more hurt, disappointment, and shame.

But there’s good news. The reality is that this thinking is flawed because it leaves no room for the Holy Spirit to work in you. Join me in this episode as I unpack how you can practice trading a habit of reacting out of your flesh for relying on the power of the Holy Spirit. The more we exercise this trust, the more God shows up to work on our behalf. That’s when the miracle of grace begins and when we get to stop trying to manage everything on our own.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Why we crave being able to take care of lives on our own terms

  • Specific scriptures that explain how God takes us from operating out of our flesh to relying on the Holy Spirit

  • Why God chooses to be patient with our process

  • The reasons why we’re so attached to a performance-based theology

  • Practical examples of how I’m learning to lean into the power of the Holy Spirit
